Adding materials

Adding items to a task material list: name, quantity, price and picking from your material database.

Items are added to a task's material list. The Materials button sits on the task card, below the technical description.

The fields

Only the name is required. Everything else is filled in as needed:

  • Stage the item belongs to

  • Manufacturer

  • Quantity and unit

  • Price per unit or total price

  • Shop

  • Article number or id

  • Colour and size

  • Description and comment

  • Link to the product

  • Photograph

Units: pcs, m, cm, m², m³, kg, g, t, l, ml.

Quantity is required before purchasing

You can create an item knowing only its name — for instance when you are on site and realise you need sealant but have not worked out how much.

To move into the purchase list, an item needs a quantity. Until it has one, it cannot be bought.

What is worth filling in even though it is optional

Article number and shop. In a month someone will be buying the remainder — the same person or a different one — and an article number gets exactly the same product rather than something similar.

Link and photograph. Especially for finishes, where the name says nothing and the shade decides everything.

Planned price. You need it to understand the budget before buying. The actual price is entered at purchase and replaces the planned one in the totals.

Approval

If a worker is building the specification, an Approve button appears in the list header to the right of the total. Pressing it sends the list to the manager, and the task moves into approval.
