Adding materials to your task

How to add the materials you need to the list on your own task.

On the task card, below the technical description, there is a Materials button. That is where the list of everything the job needs is built.

Adding an item

Create the item and fill in the name — that is the only required field at creation.

Then add what you know: quantity and unit, manufacturer, article number, colour, size, shop, link, photograph. The more precise it is, the smaller the chance somebody buys the wrong thing.

Quantity is required for the item to reach purchasing. Without it, the item cannot be bought.

Build the whole list at once

Work out everything you need, including the small things: fixings, consumables, the stuff that is "usually in the van". Ordering mid-job means a lost day and a second trip.

Allow a margin where it is justified: tile cuts, breakages, compound overrun. Surplus can be returned; a shortage stops the work.

Sending for approval

When the list is ready, press Approve in the specification header, to the right of the total.

The list goes to the site manager. After that you cannot change it — so check before sending that everything is on it.

What the manager does

They review your items — they are grouped into a separate sublist — and decide on each one: approve, replace, or reject with a comment.

If an item is rejected or replaced you will see the comment and can make corrections.

Prices

On your own tasks you can see prices. On other people's tasks the specification is visible but without prices.
