Deadlines and notifications
How DOMOD tracks deadlines, when notifications are sent and who receives them.
Deadlines are set when the task is created: planned start and completion dates. The system counts from these to decide when to draw attention.
How a task starts needing attention
Each status has its own rule. The main ones:
Step | Attention | Overdue |
|---|---|---|
Waiting for the worker to answer | after 1 day | thereafter |
Specification under approval | after 1 day | thereafter |
Specification returned with comments | after 1 day | thereafter |
Ready to start | the day before the start date | the day after the start date |
Work in progress | the day before the end date | the day after the end date |
Final report under review | after 3 days | thereafter |
Corrections after review | after 1–3 days | thereafter |
These values are currently fixed and not configurable.
What this mechanism is for
The orange bar appears before the deadline is missed, not after. A task due to start tomorrow with materials still not on site lights up today — the last moment when something can still be done about it.
An overdue status does not block anything. It stays visible until the task moves on.
Notifications
Notifications arrive inside the service. The bell in the top bar shows the list; a notification is marked read automatically when you open it, and there is a button to mark everything read.
Email and push notifications are not available yet.
There is a practical consequence: a worker who does not open DOMOD will not see the reminders either. On sites where deadline discipline is loose, this is worth saying out loud.
Settings
The notifications section is in your account settings, where individual event types can be switched on and off.
