Task statuses and progress colours
What the green, orange and red progress bars mean and how a task moves between states.
A task moves through a fixed sequence of statuses. Each one shows a percentage of completion and offers exactly the buttons that make sense at that step.
The full path
Status | % | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
Draft | 10 | Task created, no worker invited yet |
Waiting for worker | 20 | Invitation sent, no answer yet |
Worker declined | 20 | The worker refused; another is needed |
Preparation | 30 | The worker is building the specification |
Approval | 30 | The specification has gone to the manager |
Not approved | 30 | The manager sent it back with comments |
Purchasing | 40 | Specification approved, buying under way |
Awaiting delivery | 40 | Everything bought, materials in transit |
Ready to start | 50 | Materials on site, work can begin |
In progress | 60 | Work under way |
Report approval | 90 | The final report is with the manager |
Rework required | 50 | Report not accepted, corrections needed |
Repeat execution | 50 | The work must be redone; a new task was created |
Done | 100 | Task closed |
When a task has several workers, the status shows how many have confirmed: "Waiting for workers — 1 of 3".
The colour of the progress bar
The bar shows not the status but the state of the deadlines within that status.
Green — the task is on schedule.
Orange — it needs attention, or the deadline has already passed.
So a task can sit in a perfectly normal status with an orange bar: it means it has been stuck on that step too long.
Buttons depend on your role
In the same status a worker and a manager see different buttons. In Preparation the worker builds the specification while the manager decides whether to start purchasing or skip it. In progress, the worker adds a report and the manager closes the task.
This is deliberate: each person is shown the action expected of them.
What cannot be skipped
The sequence is fixed. Work cannot start before preparation and purchasing — but if a task needs no materials, the manager skips purchasing in one action.
