The demo project

Every new account starts with a pre-filled demo project. How to use it and what to look at first.

Every new account opens with a project already filled in. It exists so you can see how DOMOD works before entering anything of your own.

Nothing in it is real. The demo project does not take up a subscription slot — it is free and does not count towards your active project limit.

What you can and cannot do in it

The demo is a sandbox rather than a working project. Inside it you can create one extra stage and one extra task to try the mechanics out. These are removed afterwards. Everything else is available for viewing and minor changes.

To take the demo out of your list, use Select, choose it, and move it to the archive.

What to look at first

Open a stage and look at the task list. Note the coloured progress bars and the counters for tasks needing attention. This is the view you will spend most of your time in.

Open a task. See how the specification, documents, related tasks and reports sit together on one screen. This is where the data that fills everything else comes from.

Open the stage specification. See how items from separate tasks have been collected into one list, and how the totals at the top break down between purchasing, delivery, warehouse and site.

Open the object passport. This is what your client receives. Worth understanding early, because it changes how you will write final reports.

What not to judge by it

The demo project is filled with tidy, complete data. Your first real project will look emptier for the first few days — that is normal.
