Documents on projects, stages and tasks
The three document levels in DOMOD and who can upload and comment on files at each one.
Documents exist on three levels of a project, and the level decides who sees them.
Project documents — contracts, design documentation, references, visualisations, permits. Everything relating to the property as a whole.
Stage documents — what is needed on this front of work: stage drawings, estimates, requirements and standards. You can attach existing project documents and upload additional files.
Task documents — specialised material for one specific job: detail drawings, technical information on materials, estimates.
The material specification is a separate section and is not part of the documents.
Who can do what
Action | Project | Stage | Task |
|---|---|---|---|
View, forward, comment | Owner, Manager, Worker, Client | Owner, Manager, Worker, Client | Owner, Manager, Worker |
Upload | Owner, Manager, Client | Owner, Manager, Worker | Owner, Manager, Worker |
Edit | Owner, Manager, Client | Owner, Manager, Worker | Owner, Manager, Worker |
Archive | Owner, Manager | Owner, Manager | Owner, Manager |
Clear the archive | Owner | Owner | Owner |
A Worker can see documents across the whole project but cannot upload into the project — only into stages and tasks.
Comments
Any document can carry comments. This works better than discussing a file in a chat: the comment stays attached to the document, and whoever opens the file six months later will find it.
What belongs at which level
At project level — anything every participant may need: the contract, design documentation, technical conditions, standards, permits.
At stage level — working material for that front of work: detailing, supplier specifications, detailed drawings, estimates.
At task level — documents concerning one specific job.
The archive
Archiving removes a document from the working list without deleting it. Only the Owner can clear the archive.
