Editing the passport

How to edit text and photos in the passport, pull in interim reports and reorder the blocks.

A stage passport is edited like a document: sections, and blocks inside sections.

Sections

A section usually corresponds to a task and is created automatically when the task closes. Your own sections are added with Add Section, available above and below the document.

Each section has buttons to move it up or down, add a text block, add a photo group, add a document, and delete the section.

A section can be collapsed using the arrow beside its title — useful once the document grows.

Blocks

Text block — an editor with three heading levels, lists, bold and italic. The block has its own title.

Photo group — a block of images, each with its own Caption field.

Document — inserted from the project's pinned files. Images only: other formats cannot be added to a passport.

Every block can be moved, filled from a report, or deleted.

A sensible order of work

Work top to bottom: first deal with the sections that were collected automatically — what stays, what goes. Then add what is missing through Copy from Reports. Go over the text last.

About photo captions

Always fill in the captions. An uncaptioned photograph is useless three years later: nobody can tell what it shows or where.

A good caption answers what and where: "Cold water pipework, wall between bathroom and kitchen, before plastering".

About language

The passport is read by the client, not by the crew. If the object is in France and your workers write their reports in another language, the passport text will need rewriting — copying from a report brings it across as it is.

That is a normal part of the manager's job when assembling, not a shortcoming of the system.
