Publishing the passport to the client
How to publish a stage passport and what the client sees once you do.
A stage passport is published with a single toggle.
How it works
While the toggle sits at Draft, the document is visible only to you and the other managers. The client does not see it.
Switching it off draft publishes the passport, and it appears for the client.
Published stage passports form the object passport. So publishing is not merely granting access — it is what the final document for the object is built from.
When to publish
At the end of a stage, not at the end of the project. A client who receives a document after each front of work sees progress and worries less.
Before publishing, check:
Internal remarks and prices have been removed
Photo captions are filled in
The text is in the right language
There are no empty sections from tasks the client does not need
Why this is worth making an event of
Publishing a passport is the only moment when the client sees your work whole and assembled. Not the messages, not the dates — the result.
It is worth writing to them in the chat to say the stage passport is ready. This is exactly the case where a few minutes of care over a document separates the contractor people recommend from the one they forget.
Can it go back to draft
The toggle works both ways. But assume the client may already have opened the document and downloaded the PDF — unpublishing does not undo what they have seen.
