The Attention and Overdue filters

How to find problem tasks fast using the filter buttons on the project and stage screens.

The project and stage screens carry counters for tasks needing attention and tasks overdue. Tapping one filters the list.

What goes into them

Attention — tasks whose deadline is approaching or whose step has dragged on. The progress bar is orange, but there is still time to act.

Overdue — the deadline has passed.

Each status has its own rule: sometimes it is a day before work starts, sometimes a day waiting for a worker's answer, sometimes three days to review a report.

How to use them

Not as a Friday report, but as the first screen in the morning.

Open Attention and you have everything that can still be saved. Tasks starting tomorrow with materials not yet received. Invitations nobody answered. Specifications waiting on your approval.

Overdue is about dealing with consequences: by then you are moving dates or explaining yourself to the client.

Why the counter beats the list

The number next to the button is visible without opening anything. It reads the state of a stage in a second: zero and zero means things are moving, seven overdue means the stage has stopped.

Look at two numbers per stage every morning and it rarely gets as far as a conversation with the client.

What the filters will not show

A task that is technically on schedule but has actually stalled: materials bought, received, worker on site, and nothing happening. Formally everything is green.

For that, look at the specification. What has piled up in Delivery is usually the real reason.
